Furniture Build PT 2
After another round of SketchUp work and some more van measuring we ordered our second parcel of struts. Upon receiving them we eagerly headed out to set them up.
Framing Continued…
This week we were concentrating on the rear of the van working on the bed and seating area. The plan for the rear is to have a 2100mm long sleeping area at night that converts to 1050mm of bench area (this will act as a roof for the garage below) and 1050mm of seating area during the day, with space for a table in the middle. We also have a couple of storage ‘pocket’ areas either side of the top end of the bed.
And so it began… more time spent scrabbling around on the floor trying to bolt the struts together. We had fun and also dealt with the frustration of having to undo bits to add extra angle connectors in. At the end of it all we now have the base of the rear together and the van really feels like it’s starting to take shape.
